Welcome to the Campbell-Tx.Net Yoper 3.0 Titanium page. This page
features Yoper 3.0 Tips and Tricks (presently under construction -
check back again soon) and a selection of Campbell-Tx.Net-built
installable source packages for Yoper 3.0. As this page is written,
the author is still working through the mechanics of making and
submitting packages to the main Yooper 3.0 archives. In the meantime,
the packages on this page have all been built from source under Yoper
3.0 and are ready for installation.
To install them, just download the tarball, untar it (tar -xjf
tarball-name.tar.bz2) and su to root. cd into the directory created when
you untar'd the tarball and issue the command "make install". That's
it! Dependencies? So far, each package on this page has no dependencies
that are not included in the baseline Yoper 3.0 install - hence no
worries. Any future exceptions will be noted.
Campbell-Tx.Net's Yoper 3.0 packages so far include:
- ve: small, fast and powerful ncurses xterm/console full screen text editor
- xosview: an excellent system monitor; rather like a predecessor of conky
- xv: THE original X11 image viewer/editor. Still amazing today. RTFM - well worth it!
An install note about xv. It installs into /usr/local, using the bin,
doc, info and man subdirectories. On Yoper 3.0 the doc, info and man
directories are broken links. Before installing xv, they should be pointed to their
/usr/share equivalents. To correct this, delete the existing broken
links and replace them with the correct ones via "# ln -s ../share/doc
doc" and so on.
